Don't Count Old Adults Down & Out!

anti-aging Apr 01, 2022

It isn't uncommon for us to see little old men and women shuffling around with their canes, scraping by in their walkers or being escorted in their wheelchairs. As a society, we have come to accept that with age comes a loss of physical ability. No longer will you hop, skip and JUMP - instead you will shamble, drag and even use a wheelchair. Yes, seeing this is not uncommon, but have you ever asked yourself WHY is it considered the norm??

The American Dream used to be: Work HARD, RETIRE and RELAX FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE...but what happens when you find yourself with mobility limitations or even disability that comes with old age? When you cannot get around as easily as you used to, your plans will often take a back seat to what you're physically capable of. With more people turning 65 than people under 25 due to the Baby Boom, the world is as old as ever. I shudder to think of all the plans, hopes and dreams that have gone down the drain due to physical impairment. But this shouldn't have to be the case! You will hear me say this often: Aging doesn't have to mean breaking down and tapping out. Researchers at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University have found a Health Secret that could change the way we think of disability and aging.

If you want to remain HEALTHY and ACTIVE Into Retirement & Old Age THERE IS A WAY!

In the recent study performed at Tufts University, researchers have found a link between mobility limitation and low levels of circulating Vitamin K. This study is the first to successfully evaluate the association between biomarkers of Vitamin K Status and the onset of mobility limitation and disability in older adults.

Low Vitamin K has already been associated with Chronic Diseases that occur with age, but what we need to understand is the connection between them. This new study used participant data from the Health, Aging, and Body Composition Study (Health ABC) [data from 635 Men and 688 women ages 70-79 years old] to find that older adults with low levels of circulating Vitamin K were 1.5 times more likely of developing mobility limitation and twice as likely to develop mobility disability as those with higher, more sufficient levels. Gender played no role, this risk was the same for both men and women.

In the Health ABC study, mobility was assessed every six months for six to ten years. Participants came in annually for clinic visits and were interviewed over the phone in-between visits. After two semi-annual reports of having any amount of difficulty with the physical assessment of walking a quarter mile or climbing 10 steps without resting, participants were labeled either as having a mobility limitation or disability if they were completely unable to do the tasks.

Out of all the participants who ended up with a limitation or disability, all of them had LOW VITAMIN K in their circulatory system. This doesn't surprise me, as the body needs Vitamin K to produce Prothrombin, a protein that plays a crucial role in Heart Health & Bone Metabolism. Vitamin K has wonderful antioxidant properties, and without them you will find yourself at risk of not just issues with mobility. Low Vitamin K can lead to Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) as well. By having adequate amounts of Vitamin K in your system you are able to protect your Cellular Membranes from damage due to excess free radicals that come with Aging.

Prof. Dr. Paul Ling Tai’s Pearls

I've lived all of my life on the move...I am 71 years old and I am still healthy and mobile with no plans of retiring soon. It is in part due to my diet, supplementation and active lifestyle, but it also comes from my secret weapon! Vitamin K is important - it is indispensable for an independent life past 50; but what most people don't know is that Vitamin K is barely absorbed on its own. Research results demonstrate that the small intestine and the large intestine seem inefficient at absorbing Vitamin K. Even if you're getting enough Vitamin K from your diet or supplements, your body may not be experiencing the benefits. Despite being vital for mobility, it isn't very mobile! That's right, this powerhouse of an antioxidant needs a little help when it comes to getting where it needs to go.

That's where Vitamin D3 comes in! A SUPER SECRET WEAPON FOR MAINTAINING YOUR INDEPENDENCE

Studies show that Vitamin K's absorbency increases TEN FOLD when paired with Vitamin D. This is because Vitamins D & K Work together as a team, playing important roles for Calcium Metabolism that helps you stay moving. As I've stated before, some people actually get enough Vitamin K, however, because of the complete lack of Vitamin D in their systems (due to lack of sunlight, lack of dietary Vitamin D, Etc.) the absorption is so low that the amount that is utilized is negligible.

BEWARE, If you're on a blood thinning medication, it can lower the anti-oxidative potential of Vitamin K, making levels COMPLETELY USELESS! Vitamin D3-K2 by Health Secrets USA is an essential supplement to maintain healthy Vitamin D & K levels in all stages of life, from fetal to old age. Combining Vitamins D and K provides even better protection of all internal organ systems and improves Immunity to fight severe diseases, and Lower incidence of All Major Cancers.

If you wish to keep active and healthy, on the move and living life for as long as possible, I recommend supplementing Vitamin D3-K2 into your regimen!

 Testimonial

This fabulous supplement has been a part of my daily regimen since April 2019, and I love it! Having been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism a number of years ago and taking Synthroid, I’m amazed at how this product is working for me whereas the pharmaceutical option has not. My metabolism is moving like a 22-year-olds, and I feel much more energy than I have in years as a 62-year-old! My weight is practically falling off while following a low-carbohydrate diet and taking this prescribed product. I can’t recommend Cellular Energy Support highly enough...especially if you have a slow thyroid. It works!
